REQUIREMENTS FOR OFFERED LAYOUTS

• 1. All inks of publication elements have to be defined by CMYK (in case usage of Pantone ink mixture is not provided). Inks of elements for publications defined using different ink galleries can be dramatically altered.

• 2. In case the image should be printed up to edges, it is necessary to provide reserve for cutting that is at least 2 mm for leaf-type editions (for example, size of the page is 210 x 297 mm, size of image should be 214 x 301 mm).

• 3. Using Adobe Photoshop programme do not use fonts smaller than 10 pt. For this purpose use vector or layout design programmes (CorelDraw or Adobe Illustrator CS).

• 4. We recommend mark text smaller than 10 pt. Recommended ink is black (or using neither more than 2 CMYK or Pantone inks).

• 5. While forwarding layout, prepared in vector programmes (CorelDraw or Adobe Illustrator CS), for printing all texts in this layout should be converted in curves. We recommend forward also all used fonts.

• 6. OLE object usage is not allowed. In vector programmes it is forbidden to use: lens effects, texture forbidding, transparency, shadow colour mask usage.

• 7. Distance from any text or essential object up to the cutting edge – at least 5 mm.

• 8. Do not perform any manipulations with scanning objects using vector and imposing (layout design) programmes (except bending and displacing).

• 9. Import scanning objects into the layout design programme already in prepared SMYK palette form with 300dpi resolution of natural size.

• 10. Transform given object in BITMAP SMYK palette with 300 dpi resolution using interactive tools of Corel Draw.

• 11. Remember the difference among terms – Printing page format, Book edge format, Prior to book edge format.

• 12. Forwarding layout to printing it is necessary to submit file with signed coloured printout.

• 13. Paper size should defined using option page setup (or analogue) should match edition book edge format.

• 14. Ink and scanning hinge (also text) thickness, as well as negatives in coloured background consisting of more than two inks should be smaller than 10 p. Minimal reproduced thickness of hinge is 0,05 mm.

• 15. Publications should not include embedded images. All images should be linked – they should be contained into separated files. Using CorelDraw it is completely opposite.

• 16. Do not insert images in the publication using Clipboard commands Copy – Paste.

• 17. Linked files can be only in EPS and TIFF formats (in Adobe Indesign as links can be used also PSD files).

• 18. EPS – files should not include fonts, inks of all elements should be defined by CMYK.

• 19. TIFF – files should be in CMYK, Grayscale or Bitmap. For scanning images it is recommended effective 300 dpi resolution, bita – 600 – 1200 dpi. TIFF – files should not include layers and additional channels. Transparency effect is forbidden. Total ink, seen in Photoshop using pipette, should not exceed 30%.

• 20. Recommended super black ink C 50%, M 50%, Y 50%, K 100%.
